Mary Bradley Mallison died on December 21, 2022 at the age of 98. Mary was the oldest child to Phillip & Kathrine Bradley of Sacramento, California. She attended Duke University for two years where she became the first freshman to be selected Duke’s Beauty Queen. It was during college, that Mary met and married her husband of 64 years, Percy Warner Mallison, who attended UNC.
A resident of Ft. Lauderdale since 1950, Mary was an active member of the community, serving as President of the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale (’62-’63). Mary was involved with The Henderson Mental Health Clinic, Museum of Arts and Beaux Arts. Mary was a parishioner of All Saints Episcopal Church (Ft. Lauderdale) since 1951, serving on the Vestry Board many times, as well as Senior Warden.
Mary raised five children, even attending summer camp with them in NC. She enjoyed college basketball (particularly Duke/ Carolina), camping throughout America, extended trips in Europe, spending time in Key Largo, FL with her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her Nonnie.
Mary is survived by sons Randy (Anne) and Chris; daughter Kathleen Everall; grandchildren Katherine Kremers, Jonathan Cruce, Allyn Crumpler, Jennifer Henikman, Carter Long, and Stephanie Thompson. Mary is proceeded in death by her devoted husband; brother Philip Bradley; and sons Pete and Brad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to one the many charities she supported: American Cancer Society; Alzheimer’s Association, Habitat for Humanity, Food for the Poor, Broward Public Library Foundation.
