OBITUARY

Michael John Egan

April 1, 1963October 12, 2020

Michael John Egan- mechanic, engineer, handyman, brother, son, uncle, husband, father; each title as important as the last. A man with a dark sense of humor, but a bright heart. A man who taught his daughters to never depend on anyone for anything; that there was nothing that they couldn't accomplish. A man who taught life lessons through real experience at the cost of being subjected to dad jokes. A man sorely missed every hour of every day- whose absence will never soften in the lives he left behind. He is survived by his loving wife, two daughters and only grandson, survived by his mother, his two brothers and his baby sister.

My father was my world, my everything. We used to joke and say I was the son he never had. He taught me so much and instilled my passion, my sarcasm, my dark sense of humor and my want to never give up. I miss him more and more every minute of every day. Save me a seat daddy, I plan to have some new stories next I see you - many many years from now.

Michael was my second eldest son by 20 minutes and I am heartbroken by his passing. He was a good son, and was always on the next plane to New York if I needed him. When his father was ill he came up and built a ramp for his wheelchair outside the front door, and did a great job, needless to say. My sister, her husband, and I spent a week with Karen and Mike and we laughed all week. He took us sailing on his “pride and joy”. May he Rest In Peace.

Mike was the best. When I started working at Mot as an intern he took me and some other interns and taught us the basics of soldering while entertaining us with stories and jokes. He let you know when you didn't do the job correctly and made sure we learned the correct methods. I owe a lot to Mike for being the kind of man that looks out for people and invests in their future.

My deepest condolences to Mike's family. He was a great man.

Truly sad to hear this sad news. I worked with Mike at Motorola and BlackBerry ~20+ years of k knowing him. He was always ready and equipped with helpful hand at work and outside of work. He was never one to be at a loss for words.😊 I'm praying his family and friends find comfort in their memories of him.

My deepest condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences go out to this wonderful family that Mike always spoke about with a smile and from love. I have only good memories of my relationship with Mike and this news has affected me with a great deal of sorrow. Mike was the one who sat me down at a soldering station back in the year 2000 and taught me everything I know about this skill set. He helped me often while making sure I learned along the way; like a mentor and his apprentice. From that moment we spoke often, mainly random conversations, and became friends. While around him I noticed our colleagues constantly held him in the highest regard. He also guided me through home/car projects and was my go-to man when I needed practical advise. He was always forward in trying to lend a hand with work or home and his friendship was genuine. Genuine, that who Mike was....a person who I met at work 20 years ago but whom I consider a genuine friend. May God welcome you into Heaven for endless peace and love; you deserve it.

I worked with Mike at Blackberry for many years. I enjoyed his sense of humor. I can still hear his laugh and see his smile as we chatted in the canteen area. I always loved to hear about his desire to travel the world on a boat. I hope that he got to complete that adventure.
I am very sorry to hear about his passing and know he will be missed. My condolences to the family.
