Michelle was a tremendous friend, FRPA mentor and light in the world for anyone that met her. She took time to greet new Parks and Recreation participants and made everyone feel welcome at any event she participated in.
Her fashion statement of always wearing a dress even while on a knee scooter never ceased to amaze me. I always laughed when she tried to convert me.
Some of my fondest memories are from FRPA conference. Always smiling Michelle would talk me in to helping in many different ways. Sitting at registration, preparing for the silent auction, cutting out foam awards to put on repurposed medals for a fun social. There was always something to do and Michelle was always in the mix. I was blessed to have her in my life and she will always be in my heart and memories.

My deepest and fondest memories of Michelle, accordingly are ones that happen to fill my heart and that is of her thoughtful ways. Michelle so devoted her staff, especially in celebratory fashion, with care and concern during significant holidays, milestones, or simply Dunkin' Donut's day. Michelle made it a point in finding ways to acknowledge others in order to fully create that personal touch. Always exceed expectations and believe in it's worth, as it will continue to be worth it in all realms. This will forever be a lesson, Michelle has so graciously given to me. I certainly appreciate and am thankful for it.

Even though I had never watched Survivor, Missy and Aunt Sue would dedicate the night it was airing to watching the series unfold. It was great to witness how excited she would get for the player she was rooting for. The gusto Missy had for sharing time with the family was always heartwarming. When I was five years old, she made pies with us, and I gave her the nickname Peaches. She has been a constant source of humor and sunshine in the lives of all she was a part of.

Michelle was a great friend. I first met her when we were looking for girls for our co-ed softball league. Her and Kris were looking to join a team and we were so happy that they found our group. We played together for many years every Friday night. Those games were almost always followed with drinks and dinner at Bru’s Room or Galuppi’s and were the highlight of my week. Michelle was always cheerful and encouraging to everyone on the team.

Given her positivity and eagerness to serve, I asked Michelle to consider serving on a the Young Professionals fir Covenant Board when I was president. As always she was happy to help and ended up replacing me as president when I left the board and served for many more years.

I’ll always remember great times with Michelle and the light and happiness that she brought into any room.

My deepest condolences to her family.

I only lived in Florida for a few years, but Michelle welcomed me right in as a friend. We played several seasons of softball together. She was a fierce competitor, a loyal friend and the life of the party. You are loved and missed. Becky

I knew Michelle in Highschool and fondly remember the adventures we took part in at Band Camp. Michelle’s happy go lucky personality and kindness was always apparent. Michelle and I became reacquainted on Facebook after losing touch for many years. I admired her drive and energy. She looked very happy in the life she had carved for herself. She was living her best life. I was saddened to hear when she was first diagnosed with cancer. I believed she was going to beat it by her pure strength and positivity alone. Heaven gained an Angel!
She will be missed!

I received the call that Michelle Susanne Zimmer better know to many of us has Missy, Zimmer, Auntie M and the Queen had passed away. Michelle had lived a full life of adventure, travel, friendship and family. When people ask how we meet and became friends I would say we meet at summer camp...people didn’t need to know that we were a camp counselors at the university of Miami working with children.I was always secretly jealous of the high school friends so my summer camp story was better! My friendship with Michelle also allowed me some great adventures wither it was supporting each other in our volunteer work hers with homeless young people or visit all her parks and events i was always proud of how she balance work, hobbies, and side hustles. I remember years ago visiting her in North Carolina when she worked at Elon College and her talking about taking a few Spanish classes! I mentioned to her seriously Michelle you have a lots of your plate already her response was i never want to stop learning plus I get to visit Costa Rica at the end of the classes. My friendship with Michelle also gave me amazing memories of travel. Our first trip was a wild Walt Disney World visit with other summer camp counselors we rented a white church van and off we went a bunch of friends living out out childhood dreams but who can forget Michelle encounter with Pluto which from then on was called “the Mangy Mutt”. But of all the travel what we did together our White Water Rafting Trip is the one we retold stories about whenever we got together. What happens when you get 6 city folks together to camp in the West Virginia mountains and go rafting on a river that has a rapids called the “Killer Z”. I will not mention who fell out of the raft or who wanted to turn back around mend way down the river. Those are stories for another time In knowing Michelle I learned the true meaning of FRIENDSHIP. Yes Michelle and I enjoyed many lunch dates of
