

Devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, and friend, Norma Blanche Brown passed away in her home on March 26, 2021 at the age of 80 after a courageous battle with a chronic illness. The light of her faith and love shines on in the friends and family she left behind.
Norma was born to George and Lillith on December 5, 1940 in St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica. She married her first husband, John, in 1959. Together they had 4 children: Peter, John, James (Andrew), and Jeanine (Elizabeth). She later divorced and remarried Edward (Chris) Brown in 1976 and had 1 child together: Deborah. Norma is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chris; her five children, Peter, John, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Deborah; her grandchildren, James (A.J.), Briana, Madison, and Sydney; her brother, Sydney; her sister-in-law Phyllis; and many extended family members.
The simplest pleasures in life brought Norma the greatest joy. She found beauty and peace in tending her garden. She reveled in cooking delicious family meals that brought all of her loved ones under one roof to share many cherished memories. She was an avid reader, and there wasn’t a crossword puzzle that she couldn’t solve. But she loved her family above all else. Her family and friends will remember her for her deep faith, her great sense of humor, and her everlasting love.
A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Davie, Florida at 11:00am. Interment will follow at approximately 12:15pm at Fred Hunter’s Memorial Gardens North in Hollywood, FL. A reception will then be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
