Olive was born in Duanvale, Trelawny, Jamaica to Jermaine Fitzgerald de Lisser and Linda May Lawrence on December 1, 1943.
She attended St Michaels Elementary School before moving to Clarks Town to live with her Father and attend Prep School. She then went onto Miss Chambers Commercial School where she graduated with Pitmans Shorthand, Accounting and Typing qualifications.
Olive left Jamaica for England in 1961. She trained as a nurse at Canterbury Nursing School, Kent. Which happens to be the same university where I graduated my masters in the social sciences.
She married Winston Lloyd Hines on April 23 1966 at Park Lane Methodist Church, Wembley, Middlesex, UK.
Her UK career life saw her take up positions at Blue Circle, Hoover Limited and Hoskins.
During her time in the UK, family life was always filled with love, laughter, and centred around fun. Olive was always bringing friends and family together and the Hines household was one where everyone was welcome including the many friends of her children.
In 1992 alongside her husband Nan emigrated to the United States. Where she worked at American Airlines for 20 years excelling to a point where she was promoted to a supervisory role utilising her strong communication and leadership skills of which she was well respected.
Nan alongside her soulmate grandad enjoyed a full life together and shared a love for travelling the world.
