Paolo Cutrufo passed on October 9, 2026, at the age of 88. Paolo Cutrufo was born in Vittoria Sicily on November 14th, 1937. He shared many stories of his amazing adventures on the river and the grain mill near his home. He loved to climb fruit trees and enjoyed sitting on a branch eating persimmons, pomegranates and loquats. At a very young age he learned and assisted with furniture making while working beside his father. Paolo turned 12 on a ship as he and his parents traversed to Argentina where he continued to grow up nurturing his thirst for knowledge with degrees in music, refrigeration, and antique restoration. At the age of 25 Paolo and his parents had their next big life change when they relocated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, NY. He was called to defend our country and although he hadn’t been here long, he proudly enlisted with the US Army. Once home, he met the love of his life, Lina, at his future sister-in-law’s wedding; his new nuclear unit began with their marriage in September of 1966.
Throughout his life Paolo was Master of all trades. In addition to being able to make anything and fix anything, he was an amazing artist, singer, and songwriter. He sang with the US Army Chorus as well as many amateur venues. Most importantly to him, he sang at every family event, wedding and special occasion. He had several special opportunities to create gorgeous art pieces that are a vision to admire. To this day all that gaze at his artwork on the wall in his home do so in awe. Paolo loved to joke and make faces just to put a smile on everyone’s face. He saw himself as a mentor and advocate to his family and friends; always striving for equality, unity, and peace among all. Family was everything to him.
Paolo was called home on October 9th 2026. He is preceded in passing by his parents Gaetano and Rosa as well as many beloved family and friends that we believe have greeted him along with our Lord as he joins them in our heavenly home.
Paolo leaves on this earth his loving wife Lina, daughter Rose Marie, son Gaetano, daughter in law Vanessa, daughter Graziella, and son-in-law Billy as well as 8 loving grandchildren Luis, Nicolas, Anthony, Paolo, Francesca, Leo, Marcello, and Christopher who adored their Nonno.
While the loss is profound, we believe that Paolo will be with us all in spirit and light until we meet again when we are called home.
