Born April 23, 1940, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Patricia was the daughter of the late Stanley Prisco and Mary Tierney Prisco.
Patricia shared 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Walter Marek. Together they built a life centered around family, love, laughter, and many cherished memories.
Patricia was a graduate of St. Ann's High School. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Carlo Acutis Parish, Olyphant, PA. For many years, Patricia worked in the business office at Mid Valley Hospital. Outside of work, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a vibrant and socially active person who truly enjoyed life. Patricia had a wonderful knack for making friends wherever she went and for making those around her laugh.
Above all, Patricia’s greatest joy was her family, and she especially treasured being a grandmother to her five grandchildren. The time she spent with them brought her tremendous happiness and was among the most meaningful parts of her life.
In addition to her husband, Walter, Patricia is survived by her children: MaryEllen Winkler and her husband, Glenn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Walter Marek Jr. and his wife, Josephine, of Forest City, Pennsylvania; and Michelle Buckman and her husband, Sean, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Maverick, Brooke, Danielle, and Christian; her sister, Connie Reese and her husband, Jim; her brothers, Stanley Prisco and Tom Prisco and his wife, Mary; her brother-in-law, Francis Marek; as well as many nieces and nephews and her much-loved “grandfur babies.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Prisco.
Patricia will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her laughter, her ability to make friends wherever she went, and most of all, for the love and joy she brought to her family. Her greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply and the many happy memories they will carry with them.
A private family viewing will be held at Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A Funeral Mass and burial will take place in Pennsylvania at a later date.
