Dr. Patrick Jabouin, Sr. was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on July 31st, 1957. On Thursday, September 9th, 2021, he ascended to be with his Heavenly Father. A brief but purposeful earthly life was completed, leaving many legacies, memories, and human achievements for all to witness the power of God’s Grace.
Dr. Patrick Jabouin, Sr. emigrated to the United States when he was nine years old in 1966. He grew up in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and the suburb of Laurelton, Queens in the state of New York. He attended York College where he studied Economics and Music. He graduated from Drake Business School where he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Management. He completed his Bachelor’s degree and proceeded to earn a Masters’ Degree in Advanced Biblical Studies and a Doctorate Degree in Theology from Maranatha Christian College. Patrick was an enthusiastic learner and spoke four languages, English, Haitian-Creole, Spanish, and French.
Dr. Patrick Jabouin, Sr. was a beloved husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his wife and life partner of 48 years, Carine Remy, and two children, Patrick Jr. and Kristopher M. Jabouin with spouse Krystal Jabouin; also survived by his sister, Dr. Fanya Jabouin-Monnay with spouse, Thomas Monnay, and by his brother, Jean E. Jabouin, Jr. He is survived by his aunt, Lyssa Jabouin-Joseph, his uncle, Lesly Jabouin and spouse Monique, his uncle Gerard Jean-Baptiste. He is survived by his nephews, Raynal Jabouin, Jr Kinsley Jabouin, and Kelly Jabouin with spouse Lauren Jabouin, and Shakuon Remy and nieces, Tatyana Monnay, Stephanie Waldron, and spouse Lance Waldron, and Christina Jeter. Further, he is survived by his great-nephew, Emmanuel Jabouin, and his great-nieces, Akaceya Jabouin, Layla Waldron, and Zoe Waldron Lastly, he is survived by numerous multi-generational cousins, extended family, and friends which are far too many to chronicle. Awaiting his return are those who preceded him: his parents, Jean Sr. and Denise Jabouin, his brother Raynal Jabouin, Sr. his son, Akeem S. Jabouin, and his father-in-law Emmanuel Remy Sr.
Dr. Patrick Jabouin, Sr. was a loving soul, usually described as a true servant leader and a “Man of the People.” From the outset, he started his professional career in Consumer Finance working for a financial institution in Manhattan, New York. He became licensed in both Real Estate and Insurance. He was president and Licensed Real Estate Broker for Jabby Realty Group, LLC. His passion was in the entertainment industry. He was an avid lover of music, he enjoyed playing jazz, gospel, and Haitian Kompa on his saxophone to the delight of many.
Dr. Patrick Jabouin Sr. moved to South Florida from New York in 1990. He was employed by major financial institutions, Broward County Board of Commissioners, and the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He started a ministry in 2012, H.E.L.P. 4 U, Inc. (His Eternal Love & Power 4 U) in honor of his late son Akeem Jabouin. The purpose of the organization was to empower individuals and organizations in empowering themselves by providing direct and/or indirect services. He facilitated workshops and seminars that promoted personal, educational, economic, and spiritual development. He also conducted leadership training programs. He was one of the founders and the current president of the Caribbean Cultural Coalition, Inc. and the International Artists Association, Inc. He had over 40 years of progressive experience in Civic Engagement, Community Organizing, Music, Radio Broadcasting, Business Operations, Consumer Finance, Life & Health Insurances, and other Financial Services.
Dr. Patrick Jabouin, Sr. will be remembered by family and friends as extremely engaging, the life of the party, possessing an infectious laugh, deeply caring and loving of, politics and providence. He was revered as a positive role model in the community, he loved life and he genuinely loved people. He was always there to lend a helping hand where needed.
