PAUL D. Himmelrich, born November 22, 1932 (age 92) was lovingly brought into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlotte. Paul was the father of Scott and raised and loved Charlotte’s daughter, Shannon, as his very own. He was the proud and adoring Poppie to her daughters, Shanus, Maggie and Chelsea. Paul came to S. Florida from Pittsburgh in the early 50’s after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He began a career as a Real Estate broker that lasted until his death, predominantly dealing in vacant land. He was especially proud that many of his life-long clients had come from his classmates in Pittsburgh and he was given the privilege of investing for one family over three generations. Paul also held a patent on crystallized honey.
Paul placed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. He was a member of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church and active in leadership and as a class member of Bible Study Fellowship for over 20 years. Paul also volunteered for about 15 years in an afternoon tutoring program for elementary school children from immigrant families. He always said it was more of a blessing for him than the children.
Paul and Charlotte were able to travel extensively for which Paul kept volumes of memories. He and Charlotte had recently completed their 51st cruise, some as long as ten weeks and had three more booked! Paul has enjoyed playing tennis three mornings a week with “the old guys” at the Delray Beach Club but enjoyed even more their time together afterwards having coffee and telling stories. Paul brought the donut holes!
Paul was a man of integrity, quiet generosity and loyalty. If you are inclined, consider following Paul’s heart by contributing in his memory to 1) Love Life South Florida at 10 S.W.44th Avenue, Plantation, Fl 33317 or 2) Rafiki Foundation at P.O. Box 1988, Eustis, FL 32727. These are both ministries that he has wholeheartedly supported for many years.
The many ways people have expressed their love and gratitude for having known Paul has been a tremendous comfort to his family.
Jesus was asked in Matthew 22:37 what is the greatest commandment in the Law and He answered “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all you mind.” Paul was obedient to this command and has left us to worship his beloved Christ in heaven.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful saints” Psalm 116:15
