

Paula loved a good “session” so to send her off in style put on your party clothes and join the family for a celebration at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at West Broward Hall, 927 NW 178th Avenue, Pembroke Pines, FL 33029.
Inurnment at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Pyramid Chapel, Forest Lawn South Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Davie, FL 33317.
Paula was born on August 2, 1944, in St. Andrew, Jamaica to Clarence Searchwell and Myrtle Bolt. She attended Titchfield High School in Port Antonio, Jamaica. In 1964 she left Jamaica to attend Wittington Hospital School of Nursing in London, England where she earned a Registered Nurse Diploma.
Paula moved to Ottawa, Canada in 1968 where she worked at Ottawa Civic Hospital. She moved back to Jamaica in 1970 where she worked as a pediatric medical nurse and midwife at University Hospital of the West Indies. She married Robert Patrick David Baugh on September 2, 1972 and continued to work part time as a nurse at the Jamaica Cancer Society. In 1981 she decided to dedicate her life to service and joined the Jamaica-America Medical Assistance Committee where she coordinated oversees donations of medical equipment, supplies, pharmaceuticals, and visits of overseas medical personnel for the Jamaica public health service.
Paula moved to Petaluma, California in 2000 where she took the NCLEX-RN to became licensed by the California Board of Registered Nursing. She regained her passion for nursing while working as a charge nurse at convalescence homes. Paula retired and moved to Florida in 2013 where she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, Ethan and Alec, and her orchid garden.
Paula is survived by her son, Stefan Baugh; daughter, Lara Gutzmore; son-in-law, Gregory Gutzmore; brothers, Clarence Searchwell, Winston Searchwell, Robin Chung; sisters, Barbara Benson, Jean Gordon, Jackie Patillo; grandchildren, Sydney Baugh, Sebastian Baugh, Ethan Gutzmore, Alec Gutzmore; and many other relatives and friends.
