Pauline Marjorie Edwards passed away on September 26, 2020 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

She was born on December 22, 1955 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to parents Linda Taylor and Roland Edwards. The youngest of two children, Pauline had a quintessential Jamaican childhood, attending St. Hilda’s high school in Brownstown, and later graduating from nursing school at the University of the West Indies in Kingston. Upon graduation from nursing school, Pauline married and subsequently moved to New York City, where her daughter Tahlia was born in 1978. After living in New York and Los Angeles, Pauline later settled in Florida where she’s lived for the past twenty years.

Pauline will always be remembered for her incredible beauty and dazzling smile, her kindness and generosity, her elegance and charm, but most notably, her ability to make everyone she encountered feel valued. Her compassion and professionalism made her an esteemed colleague to many, her love of life and vibrant energy fostered many friendships that have lasted for decades.

She loved to travel, having visited many countries in Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. Pauline was also a great lover of music; you would always find her dancing to vintage soul, r&b, and reggae. Although she eventually became a US citizen, Jamaica was never far from her heart; she often visited her native country and was an ardent supporter of Jamaican events in Florida. Pauline also gave back to her community as a member of the Caribbean Heart Menders Association, a volunteer organization that funds teams of medical personnel to travel to Jamaica and other countries in the West Indies to perform life-saving cardiac surgeries. Pauline is survived by her mother, Linda Taylor, brother, Errol “Bunny” Edwards; daughter, Tahlia McLeod, as well as many close friends and extended family.

We celebrate Pauline’s life on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

Pauline will be dearly missed.

Peace in Heaven

You’re peacefully now sleeping
In a world of purest light
Where angels sing their sweet refrain
And where everything shines bright.

Beside the tranquil waters
You walk along each day
Where the blossoms are so beautiful
With the colors they display

You’re so very dearly thought of
And every precious memory
Has left a lovely rainbow
That will last eternally.

Tahlia,

I’m still struggling to come to grips with your mom’s passing. I have many fond memories of her as a child and was immediately drawn to her beauty, poise, and radiance, which only intensified with age. I remember when you both visited me years ago in Los Angeles at my college boyfriend’s apartment. It was as if no time had lapsed. We shared intimate stories, traded healthy hair tips, and laughed all afternoon. Sadly, that was the last time I saw Pam. She will always hold a special place in my heart and will be sorely missed. Keeping you and the family in prayer...much love Cousin❤️
