Peter William Pounds

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 16, 1959. He was the son of Thomas Arthur Pounds and Bonnie Jean, mother, and Robin Lynn Pounds, sister. He grew up in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, moving to Bethel Park, Pennsylvania after attending Kindergarten through fifth grade in the Carnegie area.

He attended Bethel Park Senior High School from 1974 through 1977. During this time the love of ice hockey became an obsession. As other kids and students would play other sports or go on summer vacations, Peter spent his weeks in Sainte Agathe, Montreal Canada learning to refine and play the game of ice hockey himself.

After high school he had the choice to try out for the Pittsburgh Penguins AAA farm team or go to college. He chose the AAA FARM TEAM tryout where he earned the chance to play for three years until his knees gave way and he could no longer play his dream game as a Goal Tender.

In High school he would go on Spring Breaks to Fort Lauderdale, Florida which lead him to moving there in 1980, working g various jobs such as Airline Maintenance, Rental Car Manager, Bank Technician, Ambulance Company Finances and the North Broward Hospital District in the North Broward Medical Center and Imperial Point Medical Center for 15 years. He suffered a stroke, brain bleed and seizure November 2010. After 6 months of rehab, he tried to go back to work but was not able and resigned permanently. Peter also suffered from diabetes and underwent wound care treatments.

He is survived by Robin Sheryl Hoge Pounds and Daughter, Ashlie Marie Pounds.

Peter will be cremated and ashes will be spread over the ocean at the Pompano Beach Fishing Pier in Private.
