Our father Rafael “Papo” González Rosa of Plantation, Florida left this world on June 26th, 2022 at the age of 77. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. He passed peacefully and was surrounded by family and friends. He was predeceased by father, Juan González and mother Ramona Rosa; brothers José Ramón “Chinín” and Plácido “Luis” González; niece Mariví González; nephew Josué García; and he is survived by two sons, Carlos Rafael González (Rita) and Arnaldo Rafael González; three brothers: Juan ”Juanito”, Victor Manuel “Tati” (Zori) and Adalberto “Lingo” (Delia) González and one sister Carmen “Chica” García; two granddaughters, Sabrina and Rebecca González; four nieces Omaira García, Zoriví, Gloriví, and Deliz Yanina González; two nephews Adalberto, Jr.“Musungo” and Amílcar “Bubo” González; one godson Alexander Rivera; three aunts Gloria Nieves, Carmen Rosa, and Milagros Rosa; and his many beloved “Cousins”.
Rafael González Rosa was born on December 29th, 1944 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. He served in the U.S. Army doing a tour of duty in Vietnam as a culinary specialist, which was one of his great passions. After completing his service and being honorably discharged, he returned to Chicago and worked for the Chicago Transit Authority and was recognized as “Driver of the Year.” He relocated to Puerto Rico and worked for Rubber and Gasket Co. of Puerto Rico as a Sales Account Manager, receiving multiple Salesmen of the Year Awards.
