Ralph A. Cajigas was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on November 18, 1929, to Fidelio Cajiga and Monserrato Ocasio. He left Puerto Rico for New York City as a young adult. He met Rebecca Rodriguez who would later become his wife when he was 22 years of age. Together they were blessed with a son, Ralph, and two daughters, Mary Ann and Damaris.
Shortly after being married Ralph joined the United States Army and served His country well. Upon his discharge he eventually went to work for Varig Airlines where he became the Cargo Director at JFK and was transferred to Miami International in 1969. Leaving Varig in 1975, Ralph answered the call to full-time Pastoral ministry. He pastored the Spanish Open Bible Church of Hialeah, Florida for 37 years upon retiring in 2013. While in ministry he served the Open Bible Denomination as District Superintendent of the South District.
Ralph is survived by his wife Rebecca, of Hialeah, Ralph, (and his wife, Kahla) his son of Deerfield Beach, Mary Ann (her husband, Bill) his daughter of Great Falls, Montana, a sister, Tesera Castro, of Sarasota, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 4 nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Damaris Louise, his mother, Monserrato Ocasio, and his father, Fidelio Cajiga.
Ralph departed into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on October 31, 2014.
While in life, Ralph's purpose in living was to serve His Lord, Jesus Christ and to be obedient to fulfill God's call and plan for his life. The demonstration of God's love was seen in the way he reached out to those lost, needing salvation, and to the hurting who needed to know the love of God.
