Dear Ackerman family,

I was so shocked to learn of Rand’s passing and struggle with cancer. I always considered Rand a good friend and always felt better after having a good conversation with him……the words flowed easily.  He definitely was one of the “good guys” and it makes my heart happy that he found a special person to have by his side during the end along with his loving family. He used to send me the most unique birthday wishes, as he never forgot because it was the same day as his mothers, and his birthday was one day after my fathers.  I will miss his sense of humor!  RIP my friend💕

We met on match and became good friends. 
Rand always made me laugh and I will miss his calls.  I don’t know anyone who knew more about baseball than Rand.

Rand Ackerman--worked as a Boy Friday back in the last '80s-early '90s at Gunther & Whitaker when Rand was a young lawyer with Jack, Bobby, Rick (RIP), Robbie (even Scottite back before things went bad) Dieter and Al, as well as Debbie, Julie (RIP),Laura, Donna, Lisa S. and Lisa L, Janet, Mary, Miss Campo and others.  We had great fun and he was a bit part of it.  Always smiling and laughing was Rand--a genuinely pleasant and fun person to engage with.  May his soul, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.  Shalom

I just heard about Rand's passing.  Rand was a great guy and a consummate professional.  One of my first PI cases that I tried,  I had Rand as opposing counsel .  We had several other cases over the years , but he was always a pleasure.   My deepest condolences to his family and friends.   May his neshama have an aliyah,  and may his memory be for a blessing.

When I opened my own law firm in 1978, shortly thereafter I realized that I needed a sharp, intelligent law clerk.  Rand fit the bill immediately.  He was my first law clerk, and he soon became a trusted and good friend.  We have been friends for over 40 years.  Our friendship was more than professional.   We spoke and met often in the early years, but when he moved to West Palm Beach to practice law, unfortunately our contact became less, but it never interfered with our deep friendship.  He was always ready to answer my phone call whenever I needed him. 
Rand was an excellent lawyer, and in my opinion the "King" of slip and fall cases.
My wife and I loved Rand. I will never forget his smile, handshake, and warm embrace every time I saw hm.   We will miss you dearly.
I am very happy that he met Maribeth, and very happy that we met her.

When I think of the New York Yankees, I will always think of Rand and when they win that number 28th World Series, . I will think of you even more.  Rand  was the guy that I would call at night and scream and yell as the Yankees would win and lose, and when Aaron Judge was trying to hit his 62nd .homer., Thank  you Evan  for bringing Rand into my life as he is a special special guy. He  was much more than a Yankees fan He was a great friend to Evan and I heard he was an amazing lawyer and the list goes on and on. Marybeth We are forever. Grateful to you taking care of him and being an amazing fiance to him. We will miss you tremendously you will always be in our hearts forever . Our hearts are very heavy today as we lay you to rest  You will  never be forgotten we will love you forever.

Infinite memories late night calls, sports talk, Vegas dreams, Dancing with the Stars, all great and filled with his zest for life. Grateful.

Rand was definitely one of a kind. He was intelligent, sweet, gentle, a tough-as-nails litigator,  and hilariously funny. We had such fun times together litigating cases and going to lunch. He always had me laughing with his jokes to where my eyes were tearing from laughing so hard. I will never forgot his $20 bill on a string  that he would throw on the floor and move as people tried picking it up during our lunch. You will always be in my heart!!!

This is very sad news....I was good friends with Rand when I sang @ September Night Club in the 1980's.  He came to see us (the band) and hang out after his working as an attorney...always dressed so nicely!  I loved to see his smiling face and chat with him on my band breaks.  He was a lovely man.
