Ray was a Navy Veteran, a musician and active in youth football as a coach and announcer in the 70's and 80's at Holiday Park.
As a musician, Ray enjoyed playing the piano, guitar and the saxophone. He was a jack of all trades, he was a builder, carpenter, painter, and gardener. No job was too much for him.
Known to many as Pop Pop, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Virginia Harper, his parents, Raymond A. Harper Sr. and mother, Glenna Harper. Ray leaves behind his sister Janet (Pat) Stanley of Hurricane, West, Va, his son Robert G. Harper, step children Russell(Mary) Wellington, Fl, Julie, Nathan(Maria) and Susan of Ft. Lauderdale, Grandsons Scott Jr. (Sarah) Matthew, David (Wellington) and Tyler of Ft. Lauderdale, granddaughter Riley and great grandson Liam.
He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
