If there were ever a person that exemplifies the definition of love and compassion, it was Robert F. DeCarolis Jr. He was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to him. He was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around him had whatever they needed. Robert was an outgoing person who was tactful at all times but typically said what he meant.

Born and raised in Massachusetts and South Florida, Robert dealt with the hardballs that life threw at him. Although life wasn’t always easy, he constantly remained optimistic and tried to bring happiness to those around him. Growing up with two siblings, Trinita and Michael, Robert learned about sibling rivalries, but also the special bond that belongs solely between brothers and sisters.

Acting as the glue that held his family together, Robert remained joyful during the good times, and strong during the bad. He was a peace-maker with an ability to resolve all sorts of family conflicts, even though he was sometimes involved in them himself. An energetic man, Robert enjoyed spending time working on his various hobbies. Whether it was building models or painting various landscapes, he took pride in everything he did. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as hanging out with his two favorite kids, niece and nephew Ashley and Kyle. Having a special bond with his mother, Trinita Christopher, Robert loved spending time with her. Even if they were laughing or arguing, they always had fun together. He loved the holidays and was very festive, especially on Christmas when he would often wear his favorite Santa shirt and reindeer antlers. Robert enjoyed family time as well, specifically those once a year road trips with the family. He didn’t just look out for his family; he was an avid charity giver and to this day has boxes and boxes of momentums from various organizations. Robert was a fantastic conversationalist who could engage just about anyone in a discussion. He was a down to earth person and was without question the type of person who enjoyed experiencing things first hand. He was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember him for most is the fact that he was so understanding and kind. Robert's final resting place is wrapped safe in the arms of God. He will be deeply missed by those who knew the amazing person he was, but he will always remain in our hearts. Everyone whose life he touched will miss Robert F. DeCarolis Jr. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a father, a friend, and now…an Angel. Robert passed away on September 6, 2012 at Florida Medical Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. He is survived by his mother, Trinita Christopher; father, Robert DeCarolis Sr., sister, Trinita Meyers; brother, Michael DeCarolis; niece and nephew Ashley Fairbrother and Kyle Meyers, as well as many loving friends. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home South, 6530 W. State Rd. 84, Davie, Florida 33317.

Hi Bob, I want to wish you a Happy and Joyous Birthday! I am sure you are going to havw a wonderful party in heaven. Now one more will be attending! Take good care of my Paul. I am sure you have alot to talk about. One day soon I will be joining you! Meanwhile down here on earth I still have work to do. I keep spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, putting one foot in front of the other waiting for that glorious day when I can see Jesus and all of you and know we all will be together for eternity! Now that is something to celebrate!

Hi Bob! Wow, it's been four years since you left us and we all still miss you dearly. This is a rough day for all of us, but today I spoke to Ashley and she said no, I'm not going to cry today...Uncle Bob wouldn't want that. I know you opened your arms wide when cousin Eve came through the gates to peace. That was a very sad loss too, her family was devastated as we were when we lost you. I wish you could come back once a year at least so your family could have just a little time to sit and talk with you. I know you're watching over all of us and I can feel your presence some times and it gives me an inner peace even if for just a little while. You'll be happy to know as I'm sure you already do that the kids are doing great. I'm so proud of them and you would be too. We were truly blessed when I had those two. They are both very different, but very special kids in their own right. I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you today and always. I miss you so very much and love you always. Your sister Trinita

Dear Trinity, Though it's been a long time, I remember your brother with such fondness. I was thinking of him in memory of his short stint as the neighborhood ice-cream man and how Morsey would buy two ice-creams a day! When I think of 'Uncle Bob', the thing that sticks out the most is what a kind, tender heart he had. God bless him and your family. He was one of a kind.

Hi Bob! Wow! it's been two years already and your still missed as much as if it happened just yesterday. I miss you more than you will ever know. I think about you daily and wish all the time you were here to see the kids and their acheivements. Ashley is graduating from college this year, can you believe it?! She is gonig onto law school for three more years to become a prosecutor for the state. She has found her way and I'm so proud of her.She will be an excellent prosecutor for sure. Kyle just started his first year of high school and is actively involved in several things already. He is now in JRROTC, which is learning about the military. He just got his uniform and he is so handsome, it would bring a tear to your eye for sure. I'm proud of the little bubba too. Both the kids miss you dearly, along with our whole family. I hope you are having a blast up there with all our family and friends who are also gone. Thanks for continuing to watch over our kids. We love and miss you Bob! Hi Bob, It's almost two years since you sailed away. So many things have changed since your voyage and not for the better. You were the glue that held everyone together in so many ways. You are truly a gem in my heart and I know you are going about God's Work. Your family and mine was better because of you. You were such a help in so many ways and the good in all is your legacy. When I think of you it always puts a smile on my face and warms my heart. You are always with me!
