If there were ever a person that exemplifies the definition of love and compassion, it was Robert F. DeCarolis Jr. He was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to him. He was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around him had whatever they needed. Robert was an outgoing person who was tactful at all times but typically said what he meant.
Born and raised in Massachusetts and South Florida, Robert dealt with the hardballs that life threw at him. Although life wasn’t always easy, he constantly remained optimistic and tried to bring happiness to those around him. Growing up with two siblings, Trinita and Michael, Robert learned about sibling rivalries, but also the special bond that belongs solely between brothers and sisters.
Acting as the glue that held his family together, Robert remained joyful during the good times, and strong during the bad. He was a peace-maker with an ability to resolve all sorts of family conflicts, even though he was sometimes involved in them himself.
An energetic man, Robert enjoyed spending time working on his various hobbies. Whether it was building models or painting various landscapes, he took pride in everything he did. He especially enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as hanging out with his two favorite kids, niece and nephew Ashley and Kyle. Having a special bond with his mother, Trinita Christopher, Robert loved spending time with her. Even if they were laughing or arguing, they always had fun together. He loved the holidays and was very festive, especially on Christmas when he would often wear his favorite Santa shirt and reindeer antlers. Robert enjoyed family time as well, specifically those once a year road trips with the family. He didn’t just look out for his family; he was an avid charity giver and to this day has boxes and boxes of momentums from various organizations.
Robert was a fantastic conversationalist who could engage just about anyone in a discussion. He was a down to earth person and was without question the type of person who enjoyed experiencing things first hand. He was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember him for most is the fact that he was so understanding and kind.
Robert's final resting place is wrapped safe in the arms of God. He will be deeply missed by those who knew the amazing person he was, but he will always remain in our hearts. Everyone whose life he touched will miss Robert F. DeCarolis Jr.
He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a father, a friend, and now…an Angel.
Robert passed away on September 6, 2012 at Florida Medical Center in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. He is survived by his mother, Trinita Christopher; father, Robert DeCarolis Sr., sister, Trinita Meyers; brother, Michael DeCarolis; niece and nephew Ashley Fairbrother and Kyle Meyers, as well as many loving friends.
