Robert George Krbavac, age 74, of Oakland Park, Florida went peacefully to Heaven on April 21, 2019. After many years of declining, debilitating health issues he finally was placed in Hospice. His wife, Donna, was at his side.
Robert, aka Bob, was the son of Julia (Baczck) and Chip Krbavac. He was born in Irvington, New Jersey on August 26, 1944. His parents and his brother, Richard eventually moved to Clark, New Jersey.
As a young boy his father taught him all about cars which developed into a long time career in major collision and auto body repair. He was in high demand as he was a true artist in cutting damaged cars in half and welding the two good sections back together.
Since he enjoyed his independence at age 19 he bought an Air Stream trailer. He loved hitching it to his four wheel drive vehicle and taking off for his favorite areas....Chincoteagua, VA, Diamond Shoals on the Outer Banks of NC, and Provincetown, MA. He became an avid fisherman at an early age and would car top to his favorite areas within and out of state.
With his love of creating things he built his first boat when he was a young man. This led to his life long dream of living on a sailboat. Happily he was able to fulfill his dream. In 1979, his wife, Donna, and their cocker spaniel, Boo, lived aboard a 41' Morgan Out Island sailboat. This led him to being affectionately called Capt Biff.
For many years they traveled throughout New England until he relocated to Florida in 1986. He enjoyed living his dream doing the things he loved with his soul mate by his side.
Words cannot express the gratitude his wife feels for the Trustbridge Hospice Willow Group. Their compassion, caring, and kindness during a most difficult time will never be forgotten.
A thank you must also be said to Merna, a kind, compassionate caregiver whose help with Robert was invaluable.
Loving the ocean and the beauty of the habitat is very fitting that Robert has been placed within the memorial of Neptune Reef off Key Biscayne, Florida. A living tribute that life goes on and continues to support and give back to marine life.
