April 27, 1942 in Nyack, New York, “Bob” was a graduate of Fordham University and Georgetown University Law School. He spent 30 years in the securities business in New York, first as a regulator and Counsel to the New York office of the National
Association of Securities Dealers and then as an Officer, Counsel and Compliance Director for C.J. Lawrence. Bob later served as a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank’s New York Branch where he was the Americas’ Compliance Director responsible for the Bank’s offices from New York to Sao Paulo to San Francisco to Toronto.
Those who worked with Bob knew him for his sharp intellect, his quick wit, his unwavering honesty, his commitment to the law, and his strong work ethic. Following his retirement in 1998 Bob shared his time between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lake Wallenpaupack, Pennsylvania. He loved the water and was an avid boater in both locations. He was deeply committed to the Fort Lauderdale community serving multiple terms as the President and Treasurer of the Fort Lauderdale Garden Club. As a garden club member he worked tirelessly on the youth gardening program and the club’s annual garden tour. Bob also was actively involved with the homeowner’s association at his residence, serving in many capacities over the years, including two terms as President. His genuine kindness, decorum, love of a good pun, and willingness to always lend a hand will be deeply missed by many.
Above all else, Bob loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, to whom he was happily married for nearly 60 years. He is also survived by their children, Robert (Genevieve) Lynch and Sheila (Michael) Evans; his grandchildren; a sister, Linda (Gerald) Meemken; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who were true family to him; and many nieces and nephews.
