Robin Kent Sears was born Feb 9th, 1947 in Dixon, Illinois. He passed away September 19th, 2012 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Rob served our country with honor as Naval air crewman aboard the USS Essex and USS Randolph. He retired after 31 year of working for Motorola as Vice President and General Manager of Motorola's Southern Division, CGIS sector and was an officer of the corporation. Rob enjoyed boating, golfing, cooking and making home improvements.
He stayed well informed of world events reading several newspapers daily and enjoyed sports. He spent much of his time involved in supporting various charities including the American Cancer Society where he was a regular at Plantations Relay for Life. Among others, he enjoyed cooking for residents at Ronald McDonald House and was involved in building homes for Habitat for Humanity.
Rob is predeceased by his father Frank McGee, stepfather William Sears and Mother Elizabeth Bemis Sears. He leaves behind his wife Sharon Littlejohn, and his stepdaughters Lauren and Bailee Littlejohn of Fort Lauderdale, his son CDR David Sears and his wife Kerry Sears and grandchildren Tristan and Jillian Sears of Tampa, FL, his son John Sears of Salt Lake City, Utah and daughter Aubrey Sears of Atlanta, GA and ex-wife Anastasia Pass of Sandy Springs, GA. He is also survived by brothers David McGee of Long Beach Oregon, James McGee of Oak Park, Illinois, sister, Beth Sears White of Fort Worth, Texas, brother, Frank Sears Jr of Haltom City, Texas and Daniel Sears of Long Beach, Oregon, and a host of loving family and friends.
Rob had an open heart, giving spirit and likable, intelligent demeanor and will be missed by all who knew him.
