Rosa Lopez Cepeda

Rosa was born October 8,1932 in Vieques, Puerto Rico. At the age of 17 Rosa moved to New York where she would meet and marry her husband of 65 years Angel Torres. Together they would raise four children Angel, Richard, Edwin and Michael Torres.

It is not often that people can affect generations to come for the better. My Abuela or Rosie as my Abuelo called her was one of those people. She has the uncanny ability to touch your soul without you knowing, making your day and life feel full. If she couldn't find the words, we knew that there would be enough food to make sure you knew you were loved, and what she loved most was her family.

Her way of life and final words of instruction were very simple yet profound "Love, respect and take care of each other" That is what she instilled in her family and that is the way we will live. In her Ninety years of life, she found an amazing husband, raised four strong men, and spoiled all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. That was the joy in her life, oh let's not forget how funny she was. Standing all of 5ft 1" a little sass queen.

Even though she is not physically here I can still sense her. I can feel the warmth of her smile and the embrace of her hug. When I need her, I can still talk to her and when I just want to tell her about my day I'm sure she will be there to listen. I will choose not to miss you because you will always be with me, and with us Abuela. I love you we will always love you.

Rosa is survived by her loving husband Angel her sons Angel his wife Mari, Richard, Michael his wife Michelle, Edwin his wife Maribel and grandchildren Belkis, Desiree, Tiffany, Heather, Anthony, Miguel, Luis, Angel Jr., Anthony, Nellybel and great grandchildren.

A visitation for Rosa will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a committal service immediately following at 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. A reception will occur Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
