Rose was such a great mom and person. I met her the year I taught Miki in third grade at Coral Springs Elementary. My heartfelt condolences to this amazing family.

So happy to have taught Rose in my college class. She was such a talented musician and a wonderful person. My condolences.

Rosie..You were my rock.. my hope..my laughter...my light.....you made my life have meaning... you made each day complete... My deepest sympathy to the Tennie family. I was shocked by the news we received from the church. She was a lovely lady and such a Godly woman with such a beautiful voice. She will be greatly missed and we know she is a peace now and we will see her once again.I went to 1st Baptist years ago and my husband Mark. He  was the candy man. We worked in the children's ministry and he did security at the Christmas pageant.My name was Joan. Rose sang at my grand daughter's Taylor's funeral in Dec 2001  She passed from Leukemia. She sang Great is our Faithfulness and there was not a dry eye. God Bless her for her faithfulness to our Lord and  to all of you and may the memories live on within your heart.

I'm feel so thankful and blessed that I was able to meet and work with Mrs. Tenne for the past two years at Deerfield Beach Elementary school. She was an outstanding music teacher and LOVED by ALL at our school.

We are so saddened by the loss of this sweet woman!  She meant so many things to so many people-the words have just not been written that can express the grief we feel.  With Miss Rose, you can't help but think of a song that  might help through this really hard time. Based on what I know (via family relations) about this precious one - music director, teacher, sister, wife, mother and all that good stuff - the name ROSE is so appropriate for her. Ms. Tennie was a phenomenal educator who went above and beyond to share her love of music with all students.  I will miss her positive energy and willingness to teach and include students of all ability levels.

Eddie, Mikki, Josh and Luke, Words cannot truly express the sadness I feel at the loss of Rose both for what she meant to your wonderful family and also for the way in which Rose touched me. At times when I was experiencing grief or insecurity in my own walk with the Lord, Rose seemed to sense that in her spirit and was there with a smile, hug and "how are you doing Sister BJ?" Rose's hugs are something I will miss the most. She gave the best hugs that made you feel not only like she was wrapping you up but so was Jesus through her. I loved singing as part of Rose's gospel choir and learned so much during those all too brief summers. The other thing I will miss most is Rose's rich, vibrant contralto voice. That voice resonated with me and touched deep into my soul each time I heard her sing. Thank you each for sharing your wonderful wife and mom with us. God bless you. BJ

Who would have thought that the West Side of Chicago would produce two classically trained musicians from the same block? I will miss you, my sister in song. The best memories were made on Lamon Ave.

Our hearts are torn in two, caught between grief that you are gone, and joy that you are celebrating at the throne of our Saviour, who became more real to everyone who ever worshipped alongside you in song.  You lifted our souls to Heaven with every note that you sang from your heart.   We will miss your light until we're called home someday.   When you find my dad, tell him I miss him and I'm sure he'll take you fishing in all the best spots.   Till we meet again, in the sweet bye and bye...
