Grandma, we will miss you greatly. We love you always, your loving advice, patience, and blunt truth will forever remain in my heart. You've ran the course God had for you and I know when you entered his presence, he said Rovenia, well done. Rest in the bosom of Jesus. Love CEDA

Rovenia was so special to everyone, but so special to my family. Rovenia was always there when we needed her the most. Now I hope she is once again by my Mom's side!!

Because Mother Rovenia Lived

It doesn't take a lot of money but love and time.
I'm not lost, in this I have gained.
When I was a toddler I was lost by her on the Atlantic City Bridge in New Jersey, and on that day and moment her world stopped.
She was my substitute Mom.

I couldn't wait for summer break because she was my summer vacation Island.
I didn't believe it, but the July page of my 2012 calendar somehow fell off this year.

She kept me informed about the world I knew and about my family and church.
She was my human computer.
She was our special delivery on our birthdays.
On her shoulders she was able to carry, care, and spread herself to many and most of her offspring.
Her shoes are so very hard to fit.
How could one person make so many others feel like it was all about them?
She controlled her ship and was called SERGE' - "How Sweet it is to know her."
It has been a blessing to be a part of her time here.
Touch others as she showed us . . .
Lord, thanks so much . . . "To God be all the glory for the things He has done."

Born to be one her many nieces,

Joyce Davis Rasberry

A faithful warrior of truth has entered into God's rest. Like many, I knew her as a sergeant of righteousness. She was always very bold about letting us know how we could live our lives according to the spirit and truth. She was a counselor to many in times of trouble. She could find a prayer for any situation that might arise. If you were sick, she would stick by your bedside. If you were in prison, she would visit you. Even when you did not realize that you were standing in the need of prayer, she would she would steadfastly intercede on your behave. She had many tattered bibles and prayer books, because she used them so often, and she used them more for others than she did for herself. Many of us will miss her, but I will always be inspired by her.

On behalf of the Stokes family Miriam, I and the children our deepest sympathy as you endure the transition of a most beautiful person in Rovenia. We always love that beautiful spirit and a sense of grace that spoke to the goodness within that she brought into every presence. May the memories shared help you to endure the loss of her physical presence.
