

Sarah Stephenson Robson, age 88, of Fort Lauderdale, died suddenly but peacefully in her home on Friday, November 28, 2014. Born April 10, 1926 inToledo, Ohio. Sarah is predeceased by her parents, Lenore and Lafayette Stephenson and her sister Lenore Casey of Shalimar, Florida. Sarah was teaching high school English in Ann Arbor, Michigan when she was introduced to the late James Edward Andrews by mutual friends in late 1950’s. They were married and resided in Ann Arbor where James had a successful real estate law practice. During that time they adopted two children, John and Sally. Both children are extremely graced by God to have been chosen to be raised by two loving and caring parents. The family moved to Florida in December 1964. Sarah immediately introduced their children to the Swimming Hall of Fame and she attended many AAU swim meets as a timer. She was an avid golfer in Michigan and became an excellent tennis player in Fort Lauderdale, a member of Coral Ridge Country Club and Lauderdale Yacht Club. Sarah was also deeply involved with the Junior League. She was a true sports fan and always rooted for her alma mater the University of Michigan, the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins. Sarah remarried her late husband Stanford Robson of Claremore, Oklahoma in 1981. Sarah was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grammy, mimi and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. She was a true class act. She is survived by her two children, John S. Andrews and Sarah (Sally) Higgins both of Fort Lauderdale, her four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Hayley Andrews, Eric Andrews, Taylor Higgins, Riley Higgins, son-in-law Tom Higgins and daughter-in-law Debbie Andrews and countless friends. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering will be on December 14, 2014 from 11 until 2:00 at Kraeer- Fairchild Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation to a charity of your choice.
