

Sean Paul Taylor was a devoted family man, sports enthusiast, and respected realtor. Born on August 27, 1972, in Des Moines, Iowa, he ascended on September 16, 2025, at the age of 53 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His presence was a steady light in the lives of those who knew him—warm, grounded, and unwavering.
Sean was a loving partner, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jonna Brown.
He is survived by his partner, Veronica; his cherished daughter, Ashley (Joseph) Barbosa; his treasured stepdaughter, Marlei Woodard; and his adored grandchildren, Sophia and Mya Barbosa. Sean had the blessing of two fathers who each held a special place in his life: his birth father, John Taylor (Ginger), and his stepfather, Harold Brown III, who lovingly raised him. He is also survived by his siblings, Leon (Alayna) Brown, Monesia (Junious) Brown, Johnny (Leah) Taylor, Alveste Taylor, and Angela (Brandon) Bell.
He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins—many of whom he grew up with like siblings. He leaves behind a legacy of love, carried forward by his extended family and the countless friends who were family to him.
Sean's grandchildren were the center of his world. His love for them was deep and constant, a quiet force that shaped every part of his life. He was at his happiest when playing with them. Whether it was a playful prank or a witty remark during a game, he brought joy and laughter to every moment.
Fun Fact: As a child, Sean gave himself a nickname — Sean Paul Taylor Eagle Bandstand Eagle Bandstand (yes, twice), Wild Cherry Brown, the Rhinestone Cowboy on Dixon Street.
A proud fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Atlanta Braves, Sean found joy in watching games with family and friends. Whether cheering his team on or demanding a substitution or play-call change, sports were life—and often the stage for his spirited commentary and good-natured teasing.
Sean attended Iowa Central College in Fort Dodge, IA, and Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA. Professionally, he built a career in real estate marked by integrity and care. He helped countless families find their homes, always with the belief that a house is more than walls—it’s where life unfolds.
Sean’s life was modern in its pace, yet spiritual in its depth. He moved through the world with quiet wisdom, gentle humor, and a soul that listened. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the love he gave freely, and the memories held by all who were blessed to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Quarterdeck Restaurant, located at 1035 SE 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, on September 28, 2025, starting at 1:00 pm.
