Sophia Dorval

Sophia died peacefully on the afternoon of January 6th, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving mother, Eveline Dorval and devoted brother, Goldsmith Dorval Jr. Sophia was born in New York but has made Florida her home. She graduated with honors from Hallandale High School and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College.

She followed her dream of working in the film industry. She was also a prolific new media writer that developed content for various online and print publications including The Sun-Sentinel, Go NYC magazine, Verbicide Magazine and Highbrow Magazine.

Her loss has impacted our family in ways we cannot begin to describe. We ask for your continued prayers and support during these hard times.

Sophie, although your time with us was cut short, know that you were loved every day that God blessed us with you.

A funeral service for Sophia will be held Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 4366 - Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
