Sue was born in New York. She was the first child of Alice and Pat, her mother and father, who predeceased Sue. When Sue was just 1, she welcomed her brother Paul, then her sister Jill, and then her little brother Cris who also predeceased Sue.
When Sue was 16, she moved to South Florida with her family to complete her final year in high school. Sue loved her siblings, taking on the role of an elder sibling, becoming a young caretaker, keeping her eye on them all, particularly after this young family lost their father shortly after their move to Florida. Sue was strong and resilient, striking out on her own as soon as possible as a young adult with a career in interior design after completion of design school in Florida.
Sue was beautiful and vibrant, and her knack for creating artistic beauty around her was the perfect choice for a beginning, flourishing career. She was so incredibly creative, actually following in her mother’s footsteps in her career of
interior design. She had an eye that was chic, timeless, and sophisticated. She created beauty around her. She was an orchid enthusiast, tending to her plants religiously. Great cooking and eating fabulous foods was a joy. And she was an animal lover!! All of her pets were treated with utmost love and a care that was truly immeasurable.
Sue was intelligent, and after a good period of time in design work, she changed careers and became quite successful in a business of her own with her sister Jill. It was in that line of work where Sue was fortunate to meet the love of her life, husband Tom. They were a team that worked; enjoying life, each other, their pets, and the two beautiful children brought into their marriage, Christy and Rocky. Tom and Sue were happy, and they were blessed to have found one another and they were equally blessed that they had the years together that they did. They were good years, in spite of Sue becoming ill. They hung on to one another and had the gift of a VERY loving relationship; Tom taking the very best care of Sue over the years in her battle with cancer.
One of the most beautiful joys to be experienced in life is the addition of grandchildren, and Sue and Tom became grandparents together with the births of Armstrong and Palmer. What a blessing that they all had time together, creating a priceless impact on their lives as a family where the grandchildren came to know Sue as Yιαγιά!
In addition to her husband Tom, Sue is survived by her beloved nieces Shea, Racquel, and Carley, her brother Paul and sister-in-law Karen, her sister Jill, children Rocky and Christy/son-in-law Barratt, grandchildren Armstrong and Palmer, mother-in-law Yvonne, brothers-in-law Jed and Tim, and many more lifelong relatives and friends. While there can be no replacement for the relationships and love we were fortunate to have shared with Sue, they are ours to keep, and we will smile again knowing that she is safe and at peace.
