We are gathered here today to celebrate the wonderful life of Sylta Celine Lafosse also known as “man Paulo”. The world tells us we can’t choose who our family is, but God blessed us with the birth of her beautiful soul. She not only touched the lives of strangers but she made a tremendous impact in her family’s life. Even though this is a sad time, I know that heaven is rejoicing because it gained another angel.
Sylta was born on January 26, 1954, in Fort Liberte, Haiti to parents Clotaire Lafosse and Altemise Belval. At a young age she married her late ex-husband, which brought forth three beautiful boys. Two of her sons were called home to be with the Lord. During this hard time, she leaned on God, her son Willinx Mompremier, and her family to get through it. While living in Haiti, she became business savvy which led to her being self-employed. In June 2016, she came to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with the help of her sister Therese to pursue the American dream. While in America, she focused her passion into helping the youth as a companion.
On Monday September 13, 2021, ma tante Celine was called home to be with her heavenly father. A decision that none of us would agree with if it was up to us. We are left with tears in our eye asking God why she had to leave us prematurely. She left behind a handsome son Willinx Mompremier, a beautiful daughter in law, Judeline Mompremier, her adopted son Patrick J Prophete and three wonderful grandchildren Widjelney, Judelinx, Willinx Fils Mompremier. She also left behind eight siblings: Corel, Telina, Luckner, Therese, Sylna, Estobert Lafosse, Clodion and Chrismane Colas; let’s not forget her nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless friends.
At the end, Sylta Celine Lafosse was a wife, a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many others.
