Vaugh St. Osbourne Facey -Zelly, was born on December 26th, 1965 in Kingston Jamaica. He was the only child for Noel and Eulalee Facey. He started his education at Vaz Preparatory school and then matriculated to St Georges College after passing his common entrance exam. His first job was with the Ministry of Finance working in accounting for a two to three year span.
On his way from work one day, he was drawn to a studio that was across the street from his job. On that very day he found out that he had a passion for music. Instantaneously he began his music career as a studio/audio engineer at Penthouse studio in Kingston. His friend Wayne Armond fondly recounts his interaction with Zelly. They met in the early 90’s when Zelly first mixed a song for the group Chalice. Wayne remembered the earlier interactions; “he was such a nice person, that we soon began to work with him regularly until he became the house engineer for Chalice. We travelled all over the world with Zelly, he and I became good friends”. Throughout the years their friendship remained steady and after some time they solidified their shared passion and started a music label together.
In January 2000, he met the love of his life Fay, and the two were united in Holy Matrimony on November 25th, 2000. This union produced their beautiful twins Tashel and Daniel Facey. Zelly migrated to the United States in 2000 where he strived to make a better life for himself and his family. In 2006 his family migrated to be with him. Zelly was overjoyed and could barely contain his glee.
Zelly pursued his passion as a studio sound engineer and worked between jobs taking care of his mother and his family. In March 2018, Zelly was hospitalized due to a stroke, and this changed his life significantly. However, even in ill health, he constantly attended his church, (Victory Place International Worship Center) with his family, where he was always surrounded with love and support. He always had a smile and knew that he was genuinely loved by the music fraternity, his friends and family.
Throughout his illness his wife and children showered him with love and cared selflessly for him until his passing.
Vaughn St. Osbourne Facey (Zelly) leaves to cherish his wonderful memories a loving devoted wife Fay, Son Daniel and Daughter Tashel of Fort Lauderdale FL, several cousins, other relatives, his church family and the music fraternity.
His soul is resting in eternal peace.
