Virginia Potter, 95, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of Memphis entered eternal life on Friday, June 21, 2019. She was born on September 27, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Eva Lewandowski. Virginia graduated from Memphis High School. She held a career as a Budget Officer at Selfridge Air Base. She was passionate about her church activities and won awards for her outstanding service. Virginia was a family person and loved to attend any activities that her grandchildren and great grandsons enjoyed. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Diane (Richard) Jarchow; three grandchildren, Christine (Stephen) Sjoblom, Richard Jarchow Jr., and Laura Jarchow (Johnny Aurea), two great-grandsons, Robert Sjoblom and Jonathan Sjoblom, all of the Fort Lauderdale area, and a brother, John Lewandowski of Mt. Clemens and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sophie Sargol and Helen Wroblewski and two brothers, Jerome Lewandowski and Stanley Lewandowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Virginia's funeral service which will commence on Wednesday morning, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 2000 Marietta Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 12:00 noon with a visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service in the Kammeraad-Merchant Funeral Home, Memphis. Burial will be in Memphis Cemetery, Richmond Township. To send condolences, visit: www.kammeraad-merchant.com.
