Vivian Roberts

Vivian Alexander Roberts was born on May 31, 1941, in Hampshire, St. Catherine, Jamaica, to the late Stanley Roberts and Georgeana White. From humble beginnings, Vivian lived a life marked by hard work, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family and church community.

He began his education at Harewood All Age School in St. Catherine, Jamaica and later trained as a carpenter—a skill that would serve as a foundation for his lifelong dedication to craftsmanship. Over the years, Vivian held a variety of jobs, including working at Innswood Estate as a delivery man and in sales at Hole in the Wall and Lumber Hardware.

Subsequently. Vivian migrated to Miami, Florida, where he continued working in the trades as a carpenter, painter, and plumber. No matter the job, he approached his work with diligence, integrity, and pride.

In 1991, Vivian accepted the Adventist message and was baptized at the Pen-Mar Seventh-day Adventist Church, now known as Saving Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church. He became an ordained deacon and served faithfully and humbly, always willing to support his church in any way he could. His dedication and commitment were a testimony to his deep love for God.

Vivian is survived by his beloved wife, Lorencia Roberts, whom he loved dearly, and his seven children: Maryann, Joseph, Roseann, Claude, Claudette, Paul, and Paulette. He also leaves behind a legacy of 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved by his family, friends, and brethren, who will always remember his kind heart, strong hands, and steady faith.

Vivian’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

A visitation will occur Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Cooper City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9250 Stirling Rd, Hollywood, FL 33024. Funeral service for Vivian will follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM also at Cooper City Seventh-day Adventist Church. A committal service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens South, 2401 Davie Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
