Wayne B. Shannon

Wayne B. Shannon, 77, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on October 10, 2026. He was the beloved partner of Ralph Sullivan, with whom he shared 49 years of love, companionship and cherished memories.

Born on November 8, 1948, in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Wayne was the son of the late William H. Shannon, Jr. and Jean Estelle Shannon. He grew up in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and graduated from North Penn High School, where he was voted the friendliest person in the Class of 1966.

After graduating from Pikesville college in Kentucky with a degree in Political Science, he began his professional career in sales, where his warmth, humor and engaging personality quickly brought him success. He later combined these qualities with his love of art by establishing the Shannon Art Gallery in Wayne, New Jersey, where he served for several years as the exclusive New Jersey dealer for paintings and limited-edition prints by renowned sports artist Leroy Neiman. He later moved to Delaware and opened the Shannon Art Gallery in Rehoboth Beach, continuing to share his appreciation for art with others. During his time in Delaware, he also lived and cared for his father until his father's passing. For the past 11 years, Wayne made his home in Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to Ralph, Wayne is survived by his sister Karen Benham (Michael); his brothers, Patrick Shannon and William H. Shannon III (Maureen); his niece, Carley Emerson (Matthew); and his nephews, Michael Benham (Michelle), William H. Shannon IV, and James C. Shannon. He also leaves two great-nieces and two great-nephews, who will carry fond memories of him in their hearts.

Wayne will be deeply missed by Ralph, his family, and the many friends who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, lively spirit, and the genuine interest he took in the people around him. His memory will remain a lasting source of comfort and affection to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
