William L Horton

William Larry Horton was born on 10/11/1947 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Our beloved

Dad was a globetrotter from the start of his childhood. He moved over 6 times, he lived

in Germany, Canada and several states in the USA, following his father who was in the

Air Force. Back in the USA he graduated high school and started college in Arkansas.

In 1968 he was drafted into the Vietnam war until 1969 when he returned to an army

base in Oklahoma. It was here that he met his first wife Janet. They had two boys,

Gregory and Adam. Larry graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1973

and started a successful career that led him to become Vice President of Planning and

Implementation for ADT, a position that he held for over 20 years. Larry married his

second wife Janie in 1988 and they had a son, Karrington and a stepson Lance. The

family lived in four states following Larry’s career promotions. Our Dad retired in 2007

and enjoyed a peaceful and happy life surrounded by his family and friends. He was

dedicated to his passions: his family, his house and bridge club.

William Larry Horton passed away at age 75 on October 4th, 2023 in Fort Lauderdale,

Florida. Larry will be remembered as the great family man, a loving Dad and Grandpa, a

successful and knowledgeable businessman and a dear friend. He will be truly missed.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents William B. Horton & Fannie Ruth Horton.

Larry is survived by his four sons Gregory Brian Horton, Christopher Adam

Horton, Lance Christopher Guy and Karrington Fitzgerald Horton; his brother David

Ronnie Horton; Janet Elizabeth Yeaton, Janie Marie Horton and his grandchildren Sylvia

Guy, Penelope Guy and Lucas Horton-Humanes.

Larry will be buried at the South Florida National Cemetery at 6501 S. State Road 7

Lake Worth, FL 33449 on November 20, 2023 at 3 PM.
