

William was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 5, 1962, and was raised by his wonderful mother, Laura Isabel Otero. He attended elementary and middle school in Brooklyn before moving to Miami, Florida, where he graduated from Miami Central High School. William worked as a Property Maintenance Manager for over 20 years throughout South Florida.
William had an absolute love for sports, with his greatest passion being the New York Yankees. He was a die-hard Yankees fan and followed the team with unwavering loyalty, more than any other team or sport. He also enjoyed cheering on the Miami Dolphins, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. His love for sports brought him excitement, memories, and countless conversations with those who shared his passion.
William also had a passion for traveling and experiencing new places. He enjoyed creating memories through his adventures and the experiences he shared with others. He was a true food lover who appreciated great meals and the connection, laughter, and memories that came from sharing food with family and friends.
William shared a very special bond with his mother, Laura Isabel Otero. Her love and guidance shaped his life, and one of his final wishes was to be reunited with her, a testament to the deep love and connection they shared.
William is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Laura Isabel Otero.
William is survived by his only son, Brandon William Otero; his former spouse and the mother of his son, Penny Otero, who remained a cherished friend; his cousin Maddie Miralles, whom he loved and viewed as a sister; his uncle, Rafael Miralles Sr., whom he looked up to as a father figure; and his cousin, Rafael Miralles Jr., whom he loved and viewed as a brother.
Visitation will be held on August 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.

A Committal Service will follow on August 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317, where William will be laid to rest with his beloved mother, Laura Isabel Otero, fulfilling one of his final wishes.
