MGST Robert Theo “Bob” Henderson Sr. (Ret.)
It is with solemn sadness that we announce the passing of Master Sergeant Robert Theo “Bob” Henderson Sr., United States Air Force (Retired), on May 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 93 years old.
Bob was born on January 3, 1932, in Columbus, Georgia, the son of Thomas J. Henderson and Charlotte Stork. He dedicated over two decades of service to his country in the U.S. Air Force, earning the respect and admiration of his peers and superiors alike.
In 1959, while stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Bob met Roselyn where they married on December 19 of that year. After retiring from the Air Force, the Henderson’s settled in Santa Maria, California, where Bob found joy in serving his community. He spent many years driving the school bus for Valley Christian High School, taking students on choir tours and to sporting events, a role he cherished deeply.
Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He was affectionately known as “Papa” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Roselyn traveled extensively, creating cherished memories, and enjoyed their second home in Arizona.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Roselyn; daughter Ann Lynette Henderson-Padilla (husband Robert Padilla); son Robert T. Henderson Jr. (wife Leslie Henderson); granddaughter Ashley Williams (husband Kyle Williams); grandsons Bryce Henderson and Parker Henderson; and great-granddaughters Lily and Kaylee Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Peggy Davies (husband Floyd Davies), and other loved ones.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Bob’s life and legacy.
In lieu flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
