Barbara Ann Young

Barbara Ann Young passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the age of 78.Barbara was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At the age of 19 she married her husband of almost fifty years, Dr. John G. Young.

She worked to put her husband through medical school, raised their three children, and worked at his office until he retired in 2006. She moved to Southwest Florida in 1971 and was an avid tennis player and golfer. Through the years she and her husband were members of several local country clubs, and were the very first members of the Estero Country Club. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, and cheering on her beloved granddaughters' volleyball teams.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Stacie (Gary) Delanois and Cheryl Young, M.D., and her granddaughters, Brittany and Jessica Potanovic. She is preceded in death by her husband John Young, M.D., her son John Young, Jr., and her parents Anna and Alfred Manuszak.

A memorial mass for Barbara will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10 a.m at the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord (8121 Cypress Lake Dr.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice (http://www.hopehcs.org/donate). She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
