Billy Sheldon Lather

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley; sons Russell (Laura), Richard (Amy); daughter Laurie Brown (Larry); eight grandchildren Michael, Melissa, Tamara, Casey, Krista, Brandon, Kelsey, and Kaley; six great-grandchildren Aiden, Trae, Ava, Parker, Braden, and baby Camden.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Diane Adorno, brother Wilfred, sisters Doris Moore (Alan), Betty Addison (Ray), and Audrey Schrock (Brad).

Bill graduated from Mancelona High School in 1956 and earned an Associate’s degree in 1957 from Spring Arbor Junior College.

Bill and Shirley moved their family from Spring Arbor, MI to Fort Myers, FL in 1974, where they all still reside.

Bill was a devout Christian and member of the Wesleyan church for over 50 years. As a general contractor he was known as very gifted builder and a master mason. He was also an avid reader. A favorite family memory will be when he read to all of us the first Christmas story from the Bible each Christmas Day.

A memorial service will be held for Bill on Thursday, December 14th beginning at 7:00pm at the Villas Wesleyan Church 8400 Beacon Blvd., Fort Myers. Family will receive friends from 6pm until time of service.
