Carol E. Archer, adored wife of George R (Bob) Archer went to heaven peacefully by his side at their home on December 27, 2024. She was born January 26, 1941 to Beulah and Earl Smith in Kannapolis, North Carolina. They moved to Akron, Ohio where she graduated from Coventry High School and soon after met Bob. She and family have been members of the Nazarene Church.
After moving to Fayetteville, North Carolina while the children were young, Carol became a AAA Travel Agency manager and Bob was a maintenance/engineering manager at Goodyear Tire Manufacturing Company. Once their children were raised, Bob and Carol moved to Fort Myers, Florida where Carol became a bank teller.
Carol enjoyed snow skiing, bowling, and traveling. Her hobbies were cooking, home decor, and shopping when she could entice others to accompany her. Though quiet and reserved, her heart overflowed with love and compassion for family and friends.
Carol is survived by her husband, George R. “Bob” Archer; daughter, Shelley R. (Todd) Glass; son, Robert E. (Marie) Archer; brothers: Michael (Renee) Smith and Timothy (Alice) Smith; 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Smith.
I am Bob and while I know Carol's leaving me to go to heaven was necessary for her and while I am surrounded by my caring family and friends, I am still devastated because I miss her touch every waking minute of every hour, God help me.
A Celebration of her Life is being planned for Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2pm at our Beau Rivage Condominium residence located at 2797 First Street, Fort Myers Fl. 33916. The gathering will take place on the first floor Grand Lobby. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Carol's name to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901 or online at https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate
