Charles Thomas Hopper Jr.

Charles (Charlie) Thomas Hopper JR of Buckingham passed away on June 30, 2026. He was born to Charles Hopper SR and Myrtle (Hanes) Hopper Martin in Muncie, Indiana on April 20, 1943. He was raised by his father Charles Hopper and Vera Jeanne Hopper.

Charlie completed his education while serving in the US Air Force at eighteen years old. He was a proud American who served his country as a Helicopter Mechanic. Upon his return to Fort Myers, he started with the United Telephone Company where he remained for thirty-four years.

It was at the United Telephone Company where he met the love of his life, Patsy Mosley. They had their first date on December 23 and were married five weeks later on January 28. They were married for fifty-six years and shared two beautiful children.

A devoted family man, Charlie Hopper was truly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and generously gave back to his community whenever he could. Charlie was a wonderful father, an extraordinary Poppa, and a cherished great-grandfather known affectionately as “GG Pop.”

He will be remembered for his wisdom, adventurous spirit, quick wit, patience, and unmatched work ethic—qualities that earned him the respect, admiration, and love of family, friends, and neighbors alike. Following retirement, Charlie and his beloved wife, Patsy, embraced their love of travel, proudly visiting all fifty states together and creating countless memories along the way.

Charlie’s legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Patsy Hopper; and his sisters, Jewel Hopper McLeod and Charlene Hopper. Followed in death by his sister, Karen Hopper Sieg.

Charlie is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Vincent) Hopper Bodnar; his son, Carlton (Nicole) Hopper; his grandchildren, Taylor (Mark) Hopper Davis, Emily Bodnar, Tanner Hopper, Eric Bodnar, and Megan (Bronson) Smith; his great-grandchildren, Levi, Riley, Easton, Avery, Emersyn, Charlotte, and Jameson. Brother-in-law Bill Sieg, and several nieces and nephews.

His Celebration of Life will be held at M&M Farms in Buckingham on July 25, 2026 at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ST Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Legion.
