Charles Francis Torre passed away at his daughter’s home in Lehigh Acres, Florida, on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the age of 80.

Charles is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Rita Torre (née Bolognese), his parents, Andrew J. Torre and Charlotte Torre (née Bostwick), and his brother, Ronald Torre.

Charles is lovingly remembered by his two children, Ann Marie De Marco (née Torre) and her husband, Robert, of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Charles Torre of Orange City, Florida; his four grandchildren, Christopher Torre, Shawn Torre, Nicolas De Marco, and Jessica De Marco; his brother, Andrew Torre, Jr. and his wife, Patricia; his sister, Carol Torre and her wife, Mickey; and his step-brother, Robert Richards.

Charles was born and raised in East Rutherford, New Jersey. During his high school years, he also studied carpentry. He worked for Darling Delaware in Newark, New Jersey for over 40 years.

Charles loved going out to dinner and dancing with his wife, Virginia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He was also passionate about volunteering; he was a member of the Elmwood Park Volunteer Ambulance Corp. for 10 years and served as president for some time.

Charles will forever be remembered as a kind and generous soul who brought life and laughter into the lives of everyone he met.

The funeral service will be held at Hodges at Lee Memorial, 1277 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913, on Wednesday, September 11 (starting at 10:00 AM for immediate family, and 10:30 AM for family and friends). To the best Brother anyone could have or wish for,that is you Charlie.There are so many times while growing up with you in East Rutherford that I will never forget.Riding around with you in your maroon '62 Chevy Super Sport ranks way up there.You were a great husband to Jeannie,a great father to AnnMarie and Charlie and again,a great Brother to me.I will never forget you and you will be in my prayers forever "Bro".God Bless you and grant you Eternal Life and Rest In Peace Brother.

When we lived down the street from my grandparents in Pennsylvania, my grandfather would sometimes pick us up from the bus stop on his four wheeler. It made us feel like we were the coolest kids on the bus! I loved that he put in the extra effort to make us smile and feel special.
