Dwight "Terry" Morris, born September 30, 1945, in Union City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. He was the beloved son of Louise Dodson Morris and Waymon Morris, and lived a full, vibrant life filled with family, adventure, and laughter.
Terry met his wife of 58 years, Kathleen Johnson Morris, at Indiana University, where their story began. They married in 1967 and built a beautiful life together over the decades, raising three children: Jeffrey Morris, Kirsten Arias (Michael Arias) and Kerrie Bartley (Vance Bartley III). Terry was immensely proud of his family and found his greatest joy in being a husband, father, and grandfather.
Terry began his career as a dedicated college administrator and professor, influencing countless students along the way. After many years in higher education, he transitioned into financial planning and wealth management, where he spent the last two decades helping others build secure futures.
Terry lived life with enthusiasm. He loved listening to music, especially Jimmy Buffett, and could often be found cheering on his favorite sports teams—the Florida State Seminoles, the Indiana University Hoosiers and the Buffalo Bills. He embraced adventure, spending his younger years scuba diving and windsurfing along the Southern California coast.
He leaves behind five cherished grandchildren— Kameron and Drew Arias, and Vance, Hudson, and Kinley Bartley—who brought light and pride into his life. He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged companion, Bailey, who will lovingly keep his recliner warm in his absence.
Terry will be remembered for his humor and the genuine warmth he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched throughout his journey.
