Dolores was blessed to serve her Lord faithfully as a Pastor’s wife for more than 65 years. She especially enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and showing hospitality. Dolores had dreamed of one day being a concert pianist, but the Lord changed that dream to becoming a faithful church pianist for over 70 years.
Dolores was a retired file clerk from Lee County Electric Company. During her later years she lived with her husband, Willard Pyle, at Shell Point retirement village, where she enjoyed working in the computer room, singing with the Shell Point Singers, and working in the gift shop. Dolores was very talented and was known for her crocheting and hand-crafted bags which she sold or gave away. She lived an amazing and unselfish life, seeking to serve and bless others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 72 years, Willard, and son Kenneth Pyle, sister Eileen Humphreys, and brother Gerald Kirkendall.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen Wilson (Joe) of Owensboro, Kentucky; Mary Parrish (Tim) of Courtland, Virginia; Carol Proctor (Andy) of Germanton, North Carolina; Rita Ryerson (Don) of Moore, South Carolina. Other survivors include a brother, Phillip Kirkendall (Carolyn); and a sister, Dottie Rice (Bill); 15 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 12 pm, Monday, February 16th, 2026 at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park in Fort Myers with Adam Smith, Andy Proctor, Joe Wilson and Travis Pyle presiding. Visitation will be at 11am before the funeral, with burial to follow.
