Doris Lenore Hardy

Doris L. Markners Hardy, 93, of Cape Coral, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 22, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Florida in 1978 from Bay Shore, New York. She was a secretary at the Bay Shore School District. Doris was a member of Hope United Methodist Church of Cape Coral. Before moving to Cape Coral, she was a member of Community Reformed Church of Clearwater, FL where she was active in the choir, the Ladies Guild, Sunday School, Prayer Chain and Missions. Doris served as Secretary and President of the Reformed Church Classical Union for the West Coast of Florida, and a member of the Gideons International Auxilary. At the closing of the church in June 2005, she became a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church in Largo, FL, and in 2007 joined St Pauls United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida.

Doris is survived by two sons, Edward Markners of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Arthur Markners of Wintersville, Georgia; four grandchildren and sister, Lenore Bossert of New York.

Doris will be laid to rest with her late husband, Edward Arnold Markners, at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park in Largo, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Gideons International of Tampa, Florida.
