Ed fought a courageous battle against cancer for six long years but he is finally free of all pain and suffering.
He is the beloved husband of Madeline (nee Johnson); loving father of Charlie and Mike (Jeannette); dear grandfather of Eddie III (Shannon), Colton and Carson, great grandfather of Jackson. He is survived by three sisters: Hazel, Lucy and Margie. He is also survived by Holly, Austin and Macie whom he loved as family. Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Charlie; his eldest son, Edgar Jr., and a granddaughter, Madison.
Ed was a US Marine from 1953 – 1957. He attended Auburn University from 1957 until graduation in 1960. He farmed in Immokalee from 1960 until the early 90’s. He then tried his hand at truck sales at Tamiami Ford where he made many dear friends.
Ed was a kind and loving man. He loved fishing and camping but most of all he loved his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers Florida 33913 on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial immediately following in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery (adjacent to the chapel).
