

Eugene Joseph Benvenuto Sr. 86, of Ft. Myers Florida, went to the Lord on Thursday morning, December 9, 2010 at Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers, surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The son of the late Nicholas and Maria Benvenuto, Gene was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 29, 1924. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose of Ft. Myers. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred and Arthur and sisters Elvira and Marie. As a proud veteran of WW2, he served as a Sergeant in the 11th Air Force, 36th Bombardment Squadron, Aleutian Islands, Pacific Theater. He was a parishioner at St. Columbkille RC Church and Past Exalted Ruler of the Cape Coral Elks 2596. He was President of The Boffer Corporation, a direct mail printing and warehousing firm in New York City for 20 years. He was named Man of the Year by the industry for his many contributions.
He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his daughters Mary Blackwell of Miamisburg Ohio, Lucille Bifano (John) of Cape Coral, Jeanne Lincoln of Cornwall New York and son, Eugene Jr (Sandy) of Naples, Fl, grandchildren, Paul, (Melissa) Christopher, (Julie), Michael, Lea,(Matthew), Dana, Jenna,(Damien), Stephanie, and Dustan and great grandchildren, Gabriel, Liam, James, Angelina, Sophia and Isabelle.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columbkille RC Catholic Church, Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00am with internment to follow. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Brandywine Clubhouse on Winkler Ave immediately following internment.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made in Gene’s memory to Hope Pace, 2668 Winkler Ave. Ft Myers, Fl. 33901 and Hope Hospice Healthcare Services, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Nielson and her team at Hope Select Care and the entire staff of Hope Hospice House for their special care and concern.
