

Floriner Muriel Sampson (nee Saunders) passed away on February 24, 2016 in Fort Myers Florida with family by her side. She was born in Trinidad & Tobago on February 17, 1924. She was preceded into heaven by her parents Abel Saunders and Adriana Saunders (nee Ransome) and her husband Ashton Sampson, as well as, siblings, Jeremiah McDonals, Sylvester, Cyril, Cecil, Steve Shelton. She is survived by her sister Beryl and her children: Lystra Sampson-Ovid, Lynette L’Amour, Hazel Sampson, Samuel-Haydn Sampson and Derek David Sampson. Also she has eleven grandchildren: Sidku L’Amour, Thayo Ovid, Joel Sampson, Leslie Ovid-Villaroel, Afiah Sampson-Sookedo, Jay Ovid, Dannae, Trinica, Jared, Dakeya and Nkosi Sampson. She also has one special great grandchild Laylah Villaroel. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews including: Curvin, Adrian, Pearl, Earl, Steve, Junior, Jacqueline, Yvonne Saunders, Patricia Horsford and many others. She is a relative to Saunders, Ransome, Johnson, Gittens, Hills, Woods, Sandy, Knight-Campbell, David, Timkee, Dickson, Piper, Weston, Tang, Yee-yick, Awong, Mc.David, Hamilton, Cayneen, Elvin, Brackson and many others. Muriel was the owner Seaview Café in Trinidad, taught Spanish amongst other subjects at secondary school level, enjoyed arts and crafts. She sang in many church choirs in her homeland. Most of all, Muriel loved her family. A celebration of life will be held at Hodges Kiser Funeral Home of Fort Myers on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM following visitation from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
