Born on November 16, 1949, in Fort Myers, Gary was a lifelong resident of Southwest Florida. He graduated from Fort Myers High School and later attended Edison College. Gary dedicated 26 years of service as a firefighter with the Tice Fire District before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of courage, compassion, and commitment to his community.
Gary had a heart for service that extended far beyond his career. He deeply loved volunteering and especially cherished his involvement with the 4-H Clubs of Lee County, the Boy Scouts of America, and The American Red Cross. Through his volunteer work, Gary touched countless lives and formed many lasting friendships.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Keene; his brother, James R. Keene; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archibald Keene and Brenda (Underwood) Keene.
Gary will be remembered for his selflessness, dedication to helping others, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private service will take place at a later date.
