George grew up on a farm in Texas. At 14, his family left Texas and traveled all over the SE United States, eventually settling in Immokalee, Florida at the age of 17. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1954 to 1957. George retired from InterTech where he was a much-loved machinist. He volunteered at the Hope Chest for many years.
George is remembered by his children: Sherri (Eis), Shawn, Wayne Hitch, and Angelique (Olin) as being, “… the greatest man that ever lived. Not only did he love us unconditionally, but he gave us the gift of his time…”.
In addition to his children, George is also survived by his siblings: Albert, Gordon, Johnny, and Edna Mae (Scott). He had 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
His beautiful wife, Nancy, was waiting for him on the other side…
A burial for George will be held Friday, August 25th from 2 - 2:30pm at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
