Golfo was born February 20, 1920, in Molaoi, Greece, to Christos and Efthemia (Katsoris) Misoulis. She married Arthur A. Bitsis in 1949 and immigrated to the United States. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to the loving care of her family. She was a prolific cook, a skilled gardener, and a knitter and crochet artist. She made lifelong friends wherever she went and was a faithful member of her church.
Beloved by all who knew her, Golfo is survived by son Angelo; grandchildren Christine (Aaron), Angelo (Vanesa), and Jaclyn; sister-in-law Cleo; as well as nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by husband Arthur, sons Christos and James, and brothers John and James.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 25, at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Fort Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
